Welcome to the CTL Toolbox!
The CTL wiki is a library of resources for emerging technology tools and applications. The purpose of this wiki is to provide a brief synopsis of some of the more popular emerging new media tools and to present some of the pedagogical applications and implications of these tools in the teaching and learning process. If one uses the metaphor of a tool box as a 'container' with a variety of tools, resources, strategies that can be used in teaching/learning environments, then it is obvious that not all tools will be in everyone's tool box. Tools are appropriated as needed in a just-in-time (JIT) fashion or in just-in-case (JIC) fashion, through personal experience, evidence of usefulness, through sharing with a colleague, etc. In your exploration of this wiki we hope that you will appropriate some of these emerging new media tools into your personal teaching and learning toolbox.

Tools are listed in the navigation bar on the left (these tools will evolve as we continue to add to them). Each tool has the following structure.
  1. What is it?
  2. Educational Implications of the Tool
  3. Examples of the tool in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
  4. Creating the Tool
  5. Research Articles on the Tool
  6. Useful Tool Weblinks
  7. Personal Testimonials
